client pays me direct. I set their site up for them, and I pay you 15% of every £89 they pay me. It costs you
nothing.

How a referral works
Part B · What it's worth
Work it out for your own clients
Said plainly. Your 15% is worked out on what a client has actually paid me, each month. A client who joins before 1 November 2026 pays nothing until 1 November; from 1 November 2026, every new site gets 14 days free first. Your first share is on their first payment.
It runs for as long as the client stays. If a client leaves, their share stops. There is no cap, no target and
no minimum number of clients. The figures are before any tax you owe on them.
The deal is 15% recurring on the monthly. Each consultancy chooses its own setup fee: if you charge your clients for your own time getting them set up, you set that fee, bill them direct and keep all of it.
Part C · How a referral works
You make one introduction. I do the setup.
YouIntroduce the client
Email me the company name, the site address, the permit number and the email address of the person at
the site who will use it. Copy them in if you like.
MeI check the permit and email the client
I check the permit on the Environment Agency's public register, then email the client directly, with you
copied. That first email says what happens next, and shows any setup fee before they pay anything.
MeI load their site
Their permit, site address, carriers and usual waste codes go in before anyone logs in, so the first
load at the gate is a few taps, not a form.
ClientThey get their login and link Defra
The login comes with the £89 monthly link. Nothing is due until 1 November 2026; from 1 November 2026, every new site gets 14 days free, then £89 a month. The permit holder
registers with Defra and pastes their API code in (the ten steps); if they send
the code to you or me, it goes in for them.
ClientThey log loads, and Defra get them
Each load is checked against Defra's rules before it saves. It sends each load to Defra automatically once
they've linked their Defra account, and shows the due date on every load.
YouYou see them in your Clients tab
I give you access to their site as their technically competent manager. From then on it sits on one
screen with every other site you cover, with anything overdue at the top.
Not sure a client is in scope? The free permit check reads the public
register for any site in England and Wales. Setting up several clients at once?
Who registers, who pays, and one email for all of them,
with a guide for each type of site to send on.
Part D · What you get in the app
Built for the person who answers for more than one permit
Every site you coverClients 3 · Sites 4 · Overdue 1
Illustration with made-up sites. The real tab shows the same columns for your own clients.
- Clients tab. Every client and every site you cover on one screen: the permit, postcode, number of
loads and the date of the last one, and a status for each site (overdue, failed, due soon or ok). Anything
overdue is at the top.
- Work on a client's site. Tap a site to record loads against their permit when you need to. The app
says whose site you are working on the whole time. Or the client logs their own and you keep an eye on it.
- Manager on site. The TCM attendance log: Arrived now and
Left now, and attendance over 12 weeks against the percentage the permit asks for.
It appears once a site has a manager's name or a required percentage set.
- Give someone access. Add the client's gate staff yourself, as an operator who can log loads, a viewer
who can look but not change, or a technically competent manager who can see everything.
- No duplicate companies. If you set a client up and someone at the site then signs up, the app sees
the permit is already there and they Ask to join. You let them in.
- Records out, any time. Build Defra spreadsheet fills Defra's own template,
for one site or all of them, and Download every load gives a spreadsheet of every
load.
- Co-branding. Your name and logo in a bar above the app for your clients, with
"powered by Byrne Digital Solutions" beneath. Send me a link to your logo and I add it. It is co-branding,
not white-label: my name stays on it.
- A demo with your name on it. I can make you a version of the try-it page that
says it was shown to them by your consultancy and sends "I want this" to you, not me. Ask, and I add it.
Not there yet, so not promised: setup ticks per client on the Clients tab, a download of the
attendance log, and a screen for uploading your own logo (I add logos myself for now).
Part E · Telling your client
Your share stays between you and me
I don't tell your clients what you are paid. If your own professional rules mean you should tell them, that
is your call, and the three sentences below are there to save you writing them.
Three sentences for your own email, if you want them
So you know: if you sign up to Byrne Waste Tracking on my recommendation, Byrne Digital
Solutions pays us 15% of your monthly fee for as long as you use it. It doesn't change the monthly price,
which is £89 a site with or without a consultant.
Want something to forward? The one-page client pack explains what it is,
the price and how setup works, and prints on one sheet.
Part F · Scotland and Northern Ireland
Your Scottish and Northern Irish clients start on 1 January 2027
Digital waste tracking starts in Scotland and Northern Ireland on 1 January 2027, on the same Defra service
as England and Wales. If you look after sites there, they are about to need what your English clients needed in September, and you can introduce them the same way, on the same terms. A site in Scotland or Northern Ireland that joins before 1 January 2027 pays nothing until 1 January 2027, the day the duty starts there.
The app asks which country each site is in and counts the two working days with that nation's own bank
holidays, so a Scottish site's due dates are Scotland's, not England's.
What changes on 1 January 2027, with sources.
Part G · Talk to me
Book a 15-minute call
Calls with consultants are after 4:30pm. Tell me who you are and when suits you, and I'll email you to
confirm a time. Email is the quickest way to reach me - I reply the same working day.
Rather email? wilf@byrnedigitalsolutions.co.uk.
Or ring 07935 173034 and leave a message: I call consultants back after 4:30pm.
Part H · Questions consultants ask
What does it cost me?
Nothing. You never pay me and you never handle my invoices. Your client pays me direct: £89 a month per site. Each consultancy chooses its own setup fee. A client who joins before 1 November 2026 pays nothing until 1 November; from 1 November 2026, every new site gets 14 days free first.
How much do I earn per client?
15% of the £89 monthly fee, which is £13.35 per site per month, for as long as the client stays. Ten sites is £133.50 a month. It is worked out on what the client has actually paid me that month.
How do I get paid?
Send me an invoice each month for the clients who paid that month, the way existing partners do. The client pays me first and I pay your share from it, so it is never paid on money that hasn't arrived.
Is my client told that I'm paid?
That is between you and your client. I don't tell your clients what you are paid; it stays between you and me. If your own professional rules mean you should tell them, there are three sentences on this page you can use.
Does my client pay more because they came through me?
Not for the monthly. The £89 a month per site is the same with or without a consultant, and your 15% comes out of what I receive. Each consultancy chooses its own setup fee: if you charge your clients for your own time getting them set up, you set that fee, bill them direct and keep all of it.
Can I put it under my own name?
Co-branding, yes: your name and logo sit in a bar above the app for your clients, with "powered by Byrne Digital Solutions" beneath. White-label, no: my name stays on it.
Can I log loads for my clients?
Yes. Tap the client's site in your Clients tab and record loads against their permit. The app shows whose site you are working on the whole time.
Can I register my client with Defra or pay their £26?
No. The permit holder registers the organisation with Defra and pays Defra's £26 a year. Once they have their Defra API code, they can send it to you or to me and it goes in for them.
Do I have to sign anything?
No contract. When you say yes, I confirm the terms by email, including that I tell every client you introduce that you're paid. Your reply to that email is the agreement.
What counts as a site?
Each permitted site is £89 a month. A mobile plant operator working several deployments under one permit is one site.
What about clients in Scotland or Northern Ireland?
Their duty starts on 1 January 2027, on the same Defra service. You introduce them the same way and on the same terms, and the app counts their due dates with their own nation's bank holidays.
Can a client's site ring you for help?
Sites are helped by email and inside the app, and I reply the same working day. Calls are for consultants, so if something needs talking through, you can ring me about your client.
