Part B · What Defra get

Saved

You typed two things: the ticket number and the weight. The rest came from the last load like it and from the site's details.

Sent to Defra automatically once your Defra account is linked.

From 1 October, each load goes to Defra about 20 minutes after it's saved, and “sent to Defra” appears next to it. Linking is a one-off: how to get your Defra API code.

The record as Defra would receive it

Defra's own field names, as the app sends them for the load you just saved. The two lines you typed are highlighted.

Part C · Worth knowing

It checks each load against Defra's rules before it saves. Try it: leave the weight blank, or type a carrier number like CB/AB1234CD, and press Save load.
Regular customers are remembered. Type a name and their carrier number and van fill in.
No signal? The load is saved on the phone and sends itself later.
Nobody at the gate? Unmanned sites use a day sheet instead of one load at a time.
Your records stay yours: build Defra's own spreadsheet, or download every load you've recorded.
Plainly: there's nothing to install from an app store, it runs in your phone's browser. It doesn't read a weighbridge: you type the weight off the ticket.

£89 a month per site

£70 setup, paid when you sign up. The monthly starts on 1 November. No contract.
